Common Questions

Where are you located and do you travel?
I am currently located in Yokosuka, Japan. I love traveling though, so please don't hesitate to reach out if you'd like me to photograph elsewhere! Traveling fees may apply.

Do you do offer mini sessions?

Only on weekdays! These must take place on base, at Kosano Park, Mikasa Park, Umikaze Park or Verny Park. They are $195, 30 minutes, and include at least 30 photos!

Do you take high school senior portraits?

Yes, I do! I'd love to do them for your senior if you'd like! I offer the hour package with the same details as a family session and a 30 minute session with the same details as the mini session in the question above.

What should I wear?

Such a great question! I usually start by telling people coordination is key. Typically using different shades of the same color for a couple's session is perfect! For example, the girl could wear a light blue dress and the guy could wear a denim button down shirt. Or for a family session, take a lightly printed piece and then draw out colors from it and use those for solids for the rest of the family. Depending on the number of family members, another pattern can be used or simply having everyone stick to neutrals (not totally matchy-matchy) would also work well.

Secondly, be comfortable! Always make sure to try on your clothes before the day of the session. Lay them out and make sure everyone will be comfy! Lastly, shoes matter! Not in a big huge way, but if little Sally has Barbie slippers on, you will notice. Not that it's a bad thing -- because hey, I'm all about the raw and real, but sometimes parents don't like that. Either way, you do you! What I'm saying is, checkout everybody's shoes and make sure you're okay with them!

What can I expect as far as extensive editing?

When it comes to editing, I typically get out distracting things and go from there. I can often remove glasses glare, a stray hair, and people in the background. I don't overly smooth skin, but my editing process does include removing large acne marks or small blemishes that are typically not there - for example if Timmy trips and gets a little bruise on his forehead the day before your session - yes, I can remove it! I am by no means the fairy godmother, but I try!

If you are wanting a different style of editing, please message me to inquire.

Do you photograph Homecomings?

ABSOLUTELY! These are some of my favorite photo sessions!! I typically book homecomings as family sessions with an hour of coverage, giving way of course, for the true timing of the ship's return. No matter if it's a month or several months, I'd be honored to capture the reunion with your loved one.

Where have you photographed?

All around the US and now in Japan!! As a military spouse, I have lived in all four corners of the United States and have driven through just about every other state. I'm thrilled to get to serve clients in Japan now! Please note that the rules are that I can only serve SOFA members.

How do payments work?

A 40% retainer fee is required to hold your date. This date is for you and no one else can book on that day. The rest is due prior to the session.

What time will our session be scheduled?

For optimal lighting, I usually recommend we schedule our time for about an hour and a half before sunset for a full session. However, if we want to get together before then, we will plan a good location for that as well.

How can I book a session with you?

You can contact me here or send me a message on Facebook!

What is your typical process for working with your clients?

We will chat details by email or FB messenger to start! After that, we will plan out our time together. We'll be sure to discuss goals for your session and I will send you a little questionnaire to get to know you better. I'd love to hear your story with any and all details included if you are willing to share. Getting to know you allows me to photograph you even better! Then we'll gather for the photo shoot, and approximately three weeks later, the photographs will be all ready for viewing in your own customized online gallery. If you need them within a few days, you're welcome to opt for that. The rush fee is $75. All of your images are professionally edited, fully downloadable and in high resolution. There is the option for ordering prints if you'd like; otherwise you have full printing rights to print from any place you choose!

Do you do traditional newborn images?

I do not. However, if you are wanting a lifestyle newborn session, where I come to your home and photograph, count me in!! I've got examples of those I can send you too!

Do you do studio photography?

I do! Please inquire if you have something specific you're wanting. I do not have props, so I am limited to lighting and a pretty background. You can definitely bring your own items though! I can accommodate things like cake smashes, professional head shots and milestone photos.

Do you offer mentoring sessions?

Yes! I serve beginner photographers - people that want to learn how to photograph better or professionally. The investment for these starts at $100.
